Guest Portrait: Ann-Sofie – On the Road to Belonging

At Coliving Italy, we’re lucky to meet people whose lives inspire us in ways we never expected. Ann-Sofie is one of them.

Originally from France, 33-year-old Ann-Sofie has spent the past few years living a truly nomadic life – no apartment, no fixed address, just her van and a passion for discovering the world. What makes her journey even more remarkable is how she’s managed to balance it with a demanding career: she studied to become a doctor, and now works online – a choice that gives her the freedom to work from wherever she feels most at home.

We were struck not only by her independence but by her clarity. Norway stole her heart – its landscapes, its people, its deep respect for others. So much so that she started learning Norwegian, took language exams, and is now applying for permanent jobs there. All while traveling full-time with her dog, living in the moment, meeting new people, and exploring different ways of life.

Her road eventually led her here, to us in Italy. She searched specifically for a coliving space where her dog would be welcome – a small but beautiful reminder that home isn’t just a place, it’s also a feeling. Ann-Sofie brought her calm, her curiosity, and a kind of quiet strength that left a mark on everyone she met.

She reminded us that the path to belonging doesn’t always look like settling down. Sometimes, it looks like a van, a pizza oven, and a group of people sharing slow mornings and honest stories under the Italian sun.
